Code of Conduct for Members of Grasshoppers Lawn Tennis Club
- When on the Club premises, all members shall behave in a manner befitting a Tennis Club
- Members should respect one another and refrain from discriminatory behaviour of any kind
- Violent or unruly behaviour or abusive language on the tennis court or on Club premises will not be tolerated
- Players should respect fellow players at all times, including accessing Court 3 via the path and not passing behind the courts when play is in progress
- Members should wear appropriate clothing whilst on the tennis court, for example no bare torsos or beachwear. Non-marking shoes must be worn at all times on the courts
- An adult must always be present with any Juniors aged 13 or under
- There is no parking at the Club other for than officials on Club business or away team players. This includes leaving a vehicle at the club entrance whilst picking up or dropping off. Under no circumstances should members or their parents/guardians park in the private parking area adjacent to the club as this is for residents only
- Members are responsible for their guests at all times. Any player bringing a guest onto the tennis courts must pay the appropriate guest fee which should be placed in an envelope in the black box by the window. Guests may only visit 3 times before applying for club membership.
- When leaving the premises, particularly late in the evening, all members should respect our neighbours and talk in subdued voices when shutting the clubhouse door and gate, including whilst walking up the drive
- The last person to leave the premises is responsible for locking the clubhouse doors and the main gate. This includes checking in the clubhouse that all windows and the doors leading onto the courts are closed
- No litter should be left on the courts or in the clubhouse. The bins outside are strictly for tennis balls and tennis tins. Bottles and other drinks containers, snack wrappings, banana skins etc should be put in the bins inside the clubhouse or taken home
- Members should ensure that no cups, glasses or bottles are left outside on club premises
Any infringement of the above rules shall be brought before the Committee and dealt with in the appropriate manner and in accordance with the terms of the Club’s Constitution.
The Club cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage to tennis equipment or other personal property or for damage or injury to members or their guests whilst on club premises.
