1.0 Acceptance as a Member  

1.1 The Committee of Grasshoppers Lawn Tennis Club (Committee) has absolute discretion upon whether to accept the application of membership for any applicant as a member of the Club  

1.2 Membership commences when the member’s payment has been received  

1.3 Payment acts as confirmation that the member has read and agreed to the membership terms and conditions  

2.0 Categories of Membership  

2.1 Categories of membership and membership rates are determined by the Committee and available on the Club website  

2.2 Members may use the facilities and attend club sessions in line with their membership category  

2.3 Off peak times are Monday – Friday 08:00 – 18:30 hours, Saturday 08:00 – 22:00 hours and Sunday 08:00 – 10:30 hours, 13:00 – 22:00 hours  

3.0 Joining Fees, Subscriptions and Other Charges 

3.1 The membership year runs between 1st April - 31st March  

3.2 Membership fees shall be paid on or before the due date. Failure to make payment on time will result in access to the facilities being withdrawn  

3.3 If a member joins the Club after the start date outlined in point 3.1 then membership fees will be pro-rata from July 1st 

3.4 Memberships cannot be frozen or suspended 

4.0 Termination of Membership  

4.1 The Committee reserves the right to terminate any membership if that member (or members) are found to be in breach of the Club’s code of conduct and/or the club’s terms and conditions. The Committee further reserves the right to terminate any membership, if the conduct of said member (or members) is deemed inappropriate and/or not within the Club's ethos, or their behaviour is deemed offensive or a risk to the health and safety of themselves and/or others 

4.2 Membership cannot be cancelled during this period irrespective of a change to personal circumstances. Exceptions to this are at the discretion of the Committee 

4.3 The membership is non-transferable and must only be used by the registered member. Any misuse will result in the membership being terminated 

5.0 Facilities  

5.1 A member is entitled to use the facilities available under the relevant membership category in accordance with the Terms and Conditions 

5.2 The opening and closing times for the facilities of the Club shall be determined by the Committee  

5.3 No play is permitted before 08:00 hours or after 22:00 hours  

5.4 Court lights must be turned off no later than 22:00 hours  

5.5 Members can request a key to access the facilities for a £10 deposit. This key must be returned at termination of membership 

6.0 Guests  

6.1 Members are responsible for ensuring their guests are aware of, and adhere to, the Club’s code of conduct and terms and conditions, and that they ensure their guests conduct themselves in a manner befitting a respectable club. The Committee further expects members to ensure their guests abide by the Club’s terms and conditions and code of conduct at all times, whilst on the premises, or as a guest at club events. All guests must be signed into the visitors book on arrival.  

6.2 Guests using the tennis facilities must pay a £5 guest fee. A guest is only permitted to play three times 

7.0 Conduct 

7.1 The Club has the right to prevent entry to anyone whose behaviour, or appearance is deemed to be unsuitable. 

7.2 Members must obey notices and signs on display in the Club. It is the members responsibility to read any information on the Club notice boards 

7.3 All members have a responsibility to report any inappropriate or concerning behaviour to a Committee member as soon as possible 

8.0 Court Bookings  

8.1 Available courts will be shown on the ClubSpark and are available for members to book  

8.2 League matches take priority in the court scheduling 

8.3 The Committee reserves the right to pre-book courts for tournaments and other activities at any time 

9.0 Liability 

9.1 The Club shall not be liable for any loss, damage or theft of property of the member or of any guest of the member. The member agrees to indemnify the club against any claim which should be made against the Club by a guest of the member 

9.2 The Club shall not be liable for the death or injury of the member as a result of the use of the facilities and/equipment provided by the Club 

10.0 Amendments 

10.1 The Committee reserves the right to change the Terms and Conditions as   deemed necessary. The Committee will endeavour to update members as soon as practicable.
