Junior Code of Conduct

If you are a Junior Member and have not signed the Code of Conduct form then please print out what's below and return it to Tennis Membership Secretary, Merchiston Tennis Club, Polwart Terrace, Edinburgh, EH11 1NA or post it into the club's letterbox attached to the Polwarth Terrace entrance gate.

Merchiston Tennis Club’s ambition is to encourage players of all ages and ability from the local area to enjoy playing tennis together, whether socially, competitively or in a coaching environment.

This requires everyone to be kind and respectful to each other, to play fairly and to look after the courts and the equipment. This applies just as much to playing away at other clubs on behalf of Merchiston Tennis Club.

We have set out a code of conduct for every junior member to read and agree.  The tennis club maintains the right to exclude anyone who fails to uphold these principles:

Our promise to Merchiston Tennis Club

At Merchiston Tennis Club, we pride ourselves on being good sportsmen and women at all times:

  1. We are polite to each other: to the other kids in our lessons, to our opponents and to the people we meet at the club.

  2. We treat our courts and all equipment with care and we wear suitable attire for playing.

  3. We respect our coach and try our hardest during our lessons. We keep him/her informed of any injuries or illnesses we have or if we are going to be late or away for a lesson.
