More about MTC coaches Kevin Duffy and Amelia Black

Kevin Duffy

Kevin has been playing tennis for 30 plus years and is a former National Player and No.1 ranked junior in Scotland. He has represented his country both nationally and internationally.

Kevin has in excess of 25 years coaching experience both in a full time and part time capacity. He became a full time Coach in 1999 when asked to join the coaching team at Next Generation, which included Judy Murray and Leon Smith. In 2001, he replaced Judy and became the Rackets Manager for a further 6 years.

From 2007 to 2916, Kevin coached at David Lloyd’s, Newhaven, successfully delivering adult classes as well as private individual and group lessons for both juniors and adults.

Kevin is Level 4 LTA Qualified and holds a Coach Accreditation Certificate. He also has current DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) and Safeguarding Certificates.

Amelia Black

Amelia is an experienced Level 2 LTA Qualified tennis coach who continually looks to improve the sessions for both adults and juniors by introducing new techniques and approaches. This is achieved by studying online services and attending tennis workshops such as those provided by Judy Murray and Lois Cayer.

Amelia has provided coaching services to the new Warriston Tennis Club in Edinburgh since it opened in the early part of 2015. She takes great satisfaction in helping both adult and junior players improve and to increase their enjoyment of tennis.

Amelia has played tennis to county standard and was the team captain for this year’s East of Scotland doubles and singles league matches. She says this role has also helped her improve players' tactical awareness needed in match situations.
