Why do we want to do it?
In 2019 Newman Collard Tennis Club celebrated its 50th anniversary.
Covid has delayed things, but the Tennis Club would like to use the anniversary to raise funds with the aim of improving infrastructure in and around the courts and create a legacy that will be available for the Liss community at the start of the next 50 years.
The main aim will be to complete the refurbishment of the club room in the Pavilion and to replace our aging floodlights with a greener LED technology
The Pavilion is a shared community space so any improvements to the facilities will benefit all users including Liss Guides and Brownies who meet weekly.
The club have already made a start with the installation of a new kitchen and you can read about what what we've done via the link below.
This festival will provide an event for the village and help the club raise funds to support additional improvements to the Club Room
In 2019 the room was an unwelcoming space with no permenent seating or surfaces and insufficient storage space. The club would like to refurbish the room, stripping out the locked kitchen cupboards and creating an open, welcoming space with a new kitchen, seating area, shelves and storage and improved access to facilities
The result would be:
- A space that is open, welcoming and fit for purpose
- A space that is flexible and will be used to host a variety of club and community events
The Pavilion is a shared community space so any improvements to the facilities will benefit all users including Liss Guides and Brownies who meet weekly.
