Over the last few years, April and May have the seen the return of a number of Club outreach programs designed to help more people of all ages and abilities start or keep playing tennis.

2024 is no different and last Monday, the Club were hosts to Kingfisher class from Liss Infants School with the return of the award winning I Play 30 tennis sessions. The children and teachers from the class were joined on court by club coach Natasha Harris and club volunteers in a unique session with everyone combining to help deliver a fantastic tennis session for the children. The club will now be hosting Kingfishers every Monday during term time until October.

I Play 30 is a programme developed by the tennis charity Bright Ideas For Tennis (BIFT).  It is currently running at a number of clubs around the UK and has been specifically designed for participants with learning, sensory and physical disabilities and for those experiencing mental ill health. The sessions with Kingfishers Class started in 2021 and was the first expansion of the programme into Hampshire and the South West 

Tennis never really stops but April and May are always busy months for the Club with the return of its community programs. I play 30 is just one of these free sessions. The club has already hosted a family coaching day in April and this will be followed into May and beyond with taster sessions for local clubs and youth groups. First to visit will be Crossover Youth Group – like the school they will return every Tusday until October. Crossover will then be followed in May with taster sessions for  the local Beavers, Guides, and Brownies units. 

The Club outreach programming has been running since 2017 when the club raised some funds through a tennis festival. The sessions  have continued and grown since then thanks to the support of local business - Synstar, Liss Garage Services and Milkwood Care.
