RLTC Hall of Fame

Richmond Lawn Tennis Club (RLTC) was formed in 1878.

Various Club tournaments have been held over the years, with the first Richmond Club tournament believed to have been held in June 1890. Our records, however, go back only as far as 1909 when ED Bisgood won the Men’s Singles and G Lindsay-Holt and WW Forrest won the Men’s Doubles.  The first Ladies Singles champion was CES Davis in 1923 and the Ladies Doubles was won by DB MacCleod and V Lermitte in the same year.

Since then, many different names appear on the trophies and surviving honour boards recording the outcome of tournaments across the years:

Some names appear many times and we admire their skill, commitment and consistent high performance.  Each name represents the spirit of competition that we continue to uphold at RLTC.

You will also notice that we have a fair few gaps and to help us fully recognise and appreciate our long history we would welcome information from members to help us build our archive for the Club and for future members.
