Richmond Lawn Tennis Club Good news for tennis

Monday 29 March

You will already have gathered from the Prime Minister’s ‘road-map’ to recovery, announced on 22 February, that outdoor tennis will be allowed to resume from Monday 29 March. Our courts will therefore re-open on that day, and no doubt everyone will be hugely relieved to get back out there after this longest of lockdowns.
The LTA is yet to clarify some details for tennis venues, but currently we expect to be able to play singles and doubles and 1:1 coaching can resume, as can group coaching such as drills, classes and socials – although the limits on group sizes is still to become clear.

Essentially, therefore - unless anything changes in the meantime - it looks as if we can return to play pretty much as we were before we went back into lockdown in early January. That includes – at least for the immediate future – everyone taking care to maintain social distancing and personal hygiene, as we've done in past months.
Our court booking system will re-open at least a week before 29 March - we'll let you know exactly when you can book courts nearer the time.  Look out for more in the members' email newsletter.
