Walking Tennis is a safe, fun and inclusive way to stay active.
It’s a game that’s open to anyone who wants to give the game a go in a supportive setting.
It’s an easy way for people to keep their body and mind active – while also enjoying the social side of being part of a tennis community.
It's for anyone that wants to play tennis but at their own pace.
It’s ideal for those who are just starting out, returning from an injury or just need a bit more time getting to the ball.
Walking Tennis has been designed to be accessible for all. It’s still tennis – but with a few tweaks:
- You can let the ball bounce twice for extra time
- You play on a smaller court and can use modified equipment (i.e. smaller net, softer tennis balls, smaller tennis rackets)
- Running and jumping are not allowed.
Our Walking Tennis sessions will be held from 12 to 1pm every Monday and will be led by our coach, Neil Rossiter. The cost per session is £7.00 for non-members and £5.00 for members. The session will be followed by the chance to enjoy a tea/coffee and chat with your fellow players.
Walking Tennis can open up the sport of tennis to those who lack confidence, fitness or ability.]We offer a free Taster Session. Come along and try it out.
We would like to thank the Lincolnshire Community Foundation from the North Kesteven District Council Lottery Fund for their support of Walking Tennis.
