Shrewsbury Lawn Tennis Club

Shrewsbury Lawn is a friendly and welcoming Tennis Club, set on the edge of the Quarry Park alongside the River Severn. With more than 500 active members, SLTC boasts six manicured grass courts and five recently resurfaced, floodlit hard courts. Our clubhouse, equipped with  changing facilities as well as a bar and kitchen, makes a very pleasant hub for social events and club meetings.  

We are a diverse club with a wide variety of members. All age groups and levels of ability are welcomed. We offer social tennis, competitive league matches, and lessons from our professional club coaches.

The club is affiliated to the Lawn Tennis Association and managed by a committee under the leadership of Club Chair, Jeremy Johnston.  We are always looking for additional volunteers to help with club sessions and events. 

All members are asked to abide by our guidance on court etiquette.

We were very proud to win the  Shropshire LTA - Club of the Year 2023 award, presented to us by Tennis Shropshire. We were nominated for the award again in 2024.

Our league-playing teams teams have had another year of outstanding success in 2025. We dominated nearly all of the seven mens and five ladies leagues over the summer and did the same in the Autumn leagues which are for mixed doubles.
