The sun shone brightly on the Club's Finals Day as all of our ll finalists put on super show of tennis.  Our ladies' singles saw Frances battle hard but she couldn't find a way to combat Stephie's power game and Stephie won in straight sets. On court 1, the men's Chairman's Cup was being hotly contested between Nick E and Russ with Russ eventually managing to edge the win. Next up were the Mixed doubles and Men's doubles. The mixed had Stephie back on court with dad, Peter,  against Ben G. and Carol. Stephie's strong baseline play and Peter's domination of the net proved a winning combination and they won in straight sets. The men's doubles saw Bernie and Vin against Nick and Jimmy. In a tense competition, the consistency of Nick and Jimmy proved the deciding factor and they took the title. The final matches of the day were the Men's President's Cup and the Ladies' doubles. The ladies played a tight match which went to three sets.  Tracey and Cheryl put up some tremendous opposition but Lucy and Claire prevailed. Back on court 1, Tom and Ollie were producing some magnificent tennis. Ollie's game was on fire and Tom struggled to find a weak point despite altering tactics and pace. Ollie was not deterred and won the trophy. Everyone had a great afternoon, enjoying the tennis and cream tea! Well done to all of our worthy finalists!
