Membership FAQ
How do I join or renew? Our adult membership is full and we are now operating a waiting list. You can apply to join the waiting list by contacting membership@dulwichtennis.com. Once you reach the top of the waiting list you will receive an invite to join the club.
What does my membership include? Membership includes free use of the courts, access to member-only sessions, coaching and competitions, and the free coach-led mix-in sessions on Saturday for all levels, and Tuesday for intermediates. The only extras are balls, floodlights and coaching (and drinks).
How do I enter the Wimbledon ballot? The LTA rules are here, adults and junior members aged 9-17 may join British Tennis as an affiliate members of Dulwich Tennis, must opt in to the ballot by February, and must remain an eligible member at the time of the Club ballot which is normally in early May. The way the ballot is organised by the LTA means the Club has no discretion in applying these rules.
Can I bring guests? Yes on payment of a £5 guest fee per person per visit. A non-member may visit as a guest up to 3 times each year (no matter who invites them) after which we ask them to join.
Can I look round the club before I join? You're welcome to come down to a coach-led drop-in play session for free from 1.30pm Saturdays for all levels, or 7pm Tuesdays for intermediates. It's all very casual but you can see the club and hit some balls, no need to book. For experienced competitive players, we can also book you a trial slot on one of our team play or coaching sessions - please email with a sense of your playing level. .
When does my membership start? Your membership starts immediately if you join online. We send all new members an electronic induction pack welcoming them to the club.
Does my application need to be approved by the committee? We are an open membership club and you can assume your application is accepted. While the tennis committee in theory has the right to decline membership applications, we would only ever do so in extraordinary circumstances (or if your payment bounces).
Can I pay monthly? Yes you can set up a monthly direct debit. Your membership will roll forward automatically until cancelled by you or the club.
I am 25, can I get the Under 25 rate? The Under 25 rate is available to those 24 or under at the start of the season on 1 May.
I am a part-time student, can I get the student rate? The student rate is intended to support unwaged full-time students.
