Bronze Medalists for Caversham Ladies O40 @ European Senior Club Championships in Antalya, Turkey.
It definitely was a week to remember for the Ladies CLTC Team who claimed their first international medal in the ITF European Senior Club Championships.
The Caversham Lawn Tennis Club Ladies O40 team played in the Ladies O40 European Senior Club Championships in Antalya, Turkey. A total of 81 men’s and women’s teams took part across 9 age categories in Megasaray Club Belek in Antalya; the event hosted by Tennis Europe and the Turkish Tennis Federation.
3 years ago our team (captained by Gill Galloway) won the Seniors GB over 50s Interclub Knockout competition, which entitled us to enter the European Senior Club Championships representing Great Britain! Unfortunately, due to the Covid Pandemic the European Champs did not go ahead in 2020 but got re-scheduled to take place this year in Turkey from 21st until 28th of November.
This was a fantastic opportunity to represent the club, play and watch good tennis and make new friends so they decided to take on the challenge and set off with a team of 6, Gill Galloway, Fleur Clegg, Alison Longfield, Katherine Pike, Sarah Baker and Ellen Kruidenier.
A fantastic event for Caversham LTC and they should be very proud to be the Ladies O40 European finalists.

Since its inception in 1983, the European Senior Club Championships have become an immensely popular event, offering a rare opportunity for the continent's best amateur players to compete in an international team competition.
