Play Your Way to Wimbledon: Berkshire 2026 Open Events Now Live

Have you ever wondered what it feels like to walk through the gates of the All England Lawn Tennis Club as a competitor? This year, Berkshire Tennis is once again inviting local players to dream big as Play Your Way to Wimbledon, powered by Vodafone, returns for 2026.

As the UK’s largest mass-participation tennis competition, this event is designed specifically for recreational players. It offers a unique pathway for juniors, adults, and disability categories to compete locally, with the ultimate goal of reaching the National Finals on the historic grass courts of Wimbledon this August.

How the Competition Works

The journey begins right here in Berkshire. The tournament is broken down into three distinct stages:

  1. Venue Stage: Compete in a local "Open" event at a Berkshire club, park, or school.

  2. County Finals: Winners from the venue stage progress to the Berkshire County Finals (typically held in late June).

  3. National Finals: County champions are invited to compete at the All England Charity’s world-famous home in SW19 from 2–8 August 2026.

Who Can Enter?

The competition is open to LTA Advantage members with an eligible ITF World Tennis Number (WTN). It is aimed at players who are newer to competition or play regularly at a local club level.

  • 14U Junior Singles: WTN 32.0 – 40.9

  • 18U Junior Doubles: WTN 28.0 – 40.9

  • 19+ Adult Doubles: WTN 25.0 – 40.9

  • Disability Categories: Specific pathways for Wheelchair, Visually Impaired, Learning Disability, and Deaf tennis.

Upcoming Open Events in Berkshire

While many clubs run "Closed" events for their own members, several venues across the county are hosting Open Eventsavailable to any eligible Berkshire player.

How to Enter

Ready to start your journey to SW19? Follow these simple steps:

  1. Check your WTN: Log in to your LTA Advantage account to ensure your World Tennis Number is within the eligible range.

  2. Search for Events: Visit the LTA Competitions Search tool.

  3. Filter by "Berkshire": Search for "Play Your Way to Wimbledon" and filter by our county to see all live events.

  4. Register: Complete your entry online before the closing date listed for your chosen venue.
