Introduction to Sensory Tennis Workshop

Sense, the national disability charity, have developed a Sensory Sport programme which provides opportunities for people with complex disabilities to participate in traditional sports in a person-centred and meaningful way. They have been working with five National Governing Bodies to develop resources, equipment offers and training package for Sensory Tennis, Football, Badminton, Snooker and Rounders.

Take a look at our Sensory Tennis resource on the Sense website for a bit of inspiration.

In partnership with the LTA, we are offering an Introduction to Sensory Tennis workshop which will be delivered via Zoom on Friday 27th September 10.00am – 12.30pm.

The workshop will include a mixture of tutor-led, individual and group activities. It will cover the following:

  1. An introduction to complex disabilities
  2. Why we have developed the Sensory Sport model
  3. Adapting activities to suit the needs of people with complex disabilities
  4. Planning and evaluating your activities

Following this training, you will have the option to gain further in-person support to help you set up your Sensory Tennis sessions, and have access to our resources and equipment.
