10U County Cup - 3rd & 4th May 2025

The qualifying event for the 10U County Cup took place last weekend, with both the girls' and boys' county teams participating in matches over in Dorset and Great Missenden respectively.

The girls' team competed in group C, recording victories against Wiltshire (6-0) and South Wales (6-0). Their match against Dorset concluded in a 3-3 draw, with the subsequent shootout resulting in an overall group win for Berkshire! Over the course of the weekend, the team recorded eleven wins out of twelve singles matches played. In addition to their on-court performances, the team enjoyed getting creative by coming up with new team chants and handshakes. They all celebrated a great weekend with ice creams - well done team! The boys were in action in group D, drawing their match against Bucks on rubbers won and lost. In their matches against Sussex and Oxford combined, the team achieved eleven wins out of twelve. The team competed brilliantly in rather warm conditions, and demonstrated excellent touch and reaction skills during their matches. They finished a very close second overall in their group. All the hard work mesnt some very hungry players, so much so that the hot dogs ran out in record time! Well done everyone. (Captain: Richard Downs)

Both the girls' and boys' teams demonstrated commitment throughout the qualifying event. The experience provided a great opportunity for team building and lots of shared tennis memories for the young players representing the county. A huge thanks to all the parents and captains for their support of the teams over the weekend.
