In September, Beverley Park Lawn Tennis Club was invited to Wimbledon as part of their Centenary Celebrations. This event was originally planned for 2020 but was postponed due to the pademic, but it was certainly worth the wait for the our members, Jon, Julia, Michael, Sarah, Phill and Jane who represented the club.
On a sunny warm day at SW19 the club had a fantastic experience which included a tour of the grounds and a visit to the museum. The tour included a visit to Henman Hill and a visit to Court 1. At midday our members were provided a lovely lunch before they had the opporunity to play on the championship courts.
After a few team photos in front of the clubhouse a warm up was led by the All England Lawn Tennis Club's head coach. The member's then picked up their rackets and got to experience the playing surface on court 4, 5, 6 and 7.
Once the social tournaments were complete all players then headed into the changing rooms, where the professionals also get changed, to get ready for the evening meal with the rest of the guests.
The night was concluded with the members having a look at the tournament trophies and receiving a Wimbledon gift bag, before getting a VIP lift home to the hotel.
A fantastic experience and we would like to thank everyone who was involved in organising the event, a dream come true for our members who attended and an experience they will never forget.
