Sam Coles/ Ryan Parker-Shorthouse beat Mark Smith/ Laurence Fay 6-3, 6-1

Rebecca Ley/ Julija Shabanova beat Sarah Tasker/ Lauren Beech 6-1, 7-5
Mixed Doubles
Rebecca Ley/ James Woodman beat Sara and Julian Attfield 6-1, 6-4

Anna Woodford/ Sam Coles beat Sarah & Neale Wyatt 7-6, 3-6, 10-8

The finals took place on Sunday 27th September.
Mens Singles Champion Simon Elliott
Exciting game which came to a premature ending when Hamish Stuart Smith was forced to retire with a damaged hamstring.
Ladies Singles Champion Sara Matta
Two tough competitors battled it out with Sara eventually coming out on top. Julija Shabanova gave a very good showing of herself.
Mens Doubles Champioins Simon Elliott and Abraham Baucher
Some big serves and dynamite rallies saw Simon and Abraham eventually come out on top against Nick Balon and Julian Attfield. It was a real crowd pleaser!
Ladies Doubles Champions Rebecca Ley and Julija Shabanova
A really compelling game. Becky and Julija complemented each other with some strong striking of the ball. Lesley Birch and Sara Matta countered gamefully but in the end gave way. A lovely game, it was regrettable that spectators couldn't see it.
Mixed Doubles Champions Garry Lowther and Lesley Birch
One of the worlds oldest tennis trophies, the Cocks and Hens Mixed Doubles was won by Garry Lowther and Lesley Birch. There were some very exciting plays and determined volleying from Michal and Karolina Minczuk. But on the day Garry and Lesley had too much for them.
We would like to thank Mark Sanders of LTA and Shelford for coming down to give the prizes. Also thank you to all competitors for their part in a good natured, sporting and enjoyable tournament this year.
