We are following LTA advice and our courts are now OPEN for singles play or coaching or doubles for member of the same household.  All courts MUST be booked in advance and you will need to take your own anti bac for the padlock / gate. Further information can be found on the link below.

Following on from the PM’s announcement on 10th May, please see below the LTA’s confirmation that some tennis can resume.

See attached ‘LTA guidance for tennis players’ for full details.  LTA GUIDANCE Please read before playing

You can play singles with someone who isn’t in your household (so long as you observe the strict rules of distancing and maintain good hygiene - hand sanitisers to be used before touching the gates, padlocks, net winders, benches, floodlight box etc) and you can play doubles with members of your household only. Only play with your own tennis equipment and mark your own tennis balls so that you only pick these up and not anyone else’s on court. It is the responsibility of those playing to clean the handle to the gate, padlock, net winder and anything else they have handled before leaving the courts. The Club has produced a risk assessment which will be displayed on the notice board at the court and on the website here - RISK ASSESSMENT PLEASE READ

To manage this play, you must book the courts using our online booking service at  Anyone found to be using the courts who has not booked, will be asked to leave immediately. You must allow time for those on the court to exit (leaving 2m distance) before entering the court and avoid changing ends, handshakes etc during play.

The LTA is happy for coaching on a one-to-one basis to restart and if you would like to arrange this, please contact Bobby Brooke on 07584 078173, Email:

Clearly all social tennis and club sessions will not be permitted until further restrictions are lifted.

It’s a start that at least we can resume some tennis so long as everyone is careful and abides by the distancing and hygiene rules.  Unfortunately if anyone is found to be disregarding the LTA’s directions, the Club will be forced to close the courts again.

With being a small club, we depend on our annual subscriptions being paid on time. The committee will be reviewing whether to extend the membership year to cover the period missed as a result of the virus, as soon as we know when the courts are to be reopened fully. The 10% discount on subs has been extended to the end of the month.

With many thanks and keep safe!
