Adult coaching

Learn, develop, play!

The main aim of our coaching programme is to help players of all ages experience the full fun and excitement of tennis through:

  • learning the basics
  • developing their skills
  • playing the sport

We believe that learning tennis skills without playing the sport is like learning a new language but never using it!

Our programme is run by Head Coach Michael Russell, supported by a team of qualified coaches, assistants and tennis leaders.

Coaching sessions and other events are available for three groups of adult players:

  • Beginner - adults keen to learn the basics with other beginners in a friendly, fun environment; our second Adult Beginner course of 2024 is online and we’re planning to run courses continuously throughout the year
  • Progression – players who have learned the basics and are now aiming to take their game to the next level by learning more advanced techniques and tactics
  • Team Player - players preparing for team tennis and aiming to improve their match performance through team training sessions

Cardio Tennis

Cardio Tennis classes.  Cardio Tennis is a high-energy fitness activity that combines the best features of tennis with tough cardiovascular exercise, delivering the ultimate, full body, calorie-burning, aerobic workout.  Cardio Tennis is set on a tennis court and supported by motivating music. It’s suitable for people of all ages and abilities.


Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong using a paddle and plastic ball with holes. It's a fantastic social activity, suitable for players of all ages.  It can also be a challenging, fast-paced, and competitive sport when people become more experienced at playing.

Following on from the successful Pickleball sessions which we ran in September - December, we kicked off the 2024 programme with an indoor Pickleball Matchplay session at Queen Anne High School. 

We have Pickleball paddles and balls for members to use whenever they wish, and we'll also be running one-off matchplay events throughout the year to showcase your skills!


Our second Summer term blocks runs from Monday 20th May until Friday 21st June.

(Progression and Cardio Tennis are available to be booked as single sessions, not full blocks).
