Latika Junior Tennis Club/Farley Wood

Welcome to Latika JTC. We are a unique junior’s only LTA registered club. Our coaching team are all fully qualified, LTA licensed and accredited, including DBS checked and have all relevant first aid qualifications.

In February 2024 we were Highly Commended and recieved an award in the Club of The Year category at the Berkshire LTA Tennis Awards. 

Our mission is to make the fantastic sport of tennis accessible, affordable and enjoyable for everyone. Playing tennis improves players agility, balance, reflex, speed, hand-eye coordination and general fitness levels. Tennis teaches concentration, discipline, tactical thinking and problem solving among other skills. Players will not only learn to interact and communicate but also compete in a fun and focused games-based way. Classes are based on age and ability starting from 4/5 years and going up to 18 years. For those who show the right aptitude to learning and developing further we also have Matt Reid Pro Coaching Performance Squads (invitation only).

Our general development club sessions run on Wednesday evenings and Saturdays.

Sessions will focus on technique, tactics and specific tennis movement on the court. Latika also offers players the opportunity to test their skills in summer and winter internal competitions, going forward, we aim to strengthen our pool of players competing in Berkshire local leagues.

Mini Tennis Junior Pathway

Latika’s Junior Tennis programme incorporates the use of Red and Orange balls which include shorter and lighter racquets, and age-appropriate smaller courts. Green Ball proportionately mimics larger/older players on a full-size court and aids learning and developing in a fun and focused way. Yellow Ball is a full size court and standard ball and will be more technical and tactical based. All sessions are fun-filled, progressive and structured tennis programmes for players; with skills, development, fun, and fitness at the heart of everything. 

The mini tennis structure is based on coaching and competition in 3 stages Red, Orange and Green with players progressing through a number of levels at each colour stage.

With over 20 years of experience, our professional coaches deliver each lesson with variations in age and ability in mind, to keep the programme relevant and exciting to every player
