COVID-19 Club Statement (17/05/21):

OUR COURTS ARE OPEN

In line with latest government and LTA advice, we re-opened the courts on 29th March.

Here is a summary of what is now permitted and what is not permitted since the loosening of restrictions on 17th May 2021:

  • Singles and doubles play is permitted.

  • 1 to 1 coaching is permitted.

  • Organised group sessions are permitted.

  • There is no limit to how many courts can be used for group sessions, including coaching sessions.

  • No more than 12 people are permitted to play on one court (which would make for a weird game anyway, but could conceivably happen with group coaching).

  • Maximum group size is 30.

  • Socialising before or after group sessions subject to rule of 30.

  • Competitive singles and doubles play is permitted, subject to the COVID secure capacity at the venue if you are playing away.

  • Socialising before or after matches subject to rule of 30.

  • Spectating is now permitted.

  • General access to the clubhouse is permitted, so long as you wear a face mask.

  • Floodlight access is permitted.

Further information and guidelines can be found on the LTA and government websites.

Please adhere to the club's COVID-19 guidelines.  Further information and guidelines can be found on the LTA and government websites.

CLUB COVID-19 GUIDELINES

The club’s current COVID-19 restricted play guidelines are outlined below.  A venue risk assessment can also be accessed here.

If you are thinking about playing tennis at our club, please read the current LTA’s guidelines before accessing our courts.  We would like to highlight the following court access and player hygiene / social distancing rules:

Court access from May 17th

  • Pre-arranged singles games or doubles games will be permitted on all courts.
  • Group social and team practice sessions will be permitted.
  • If you have any of the symptoms associated with COVID-19 please do not visit the courts.  The latest government advice can be viewed here
  • Do not visit the club unless you have booked a court. Courts can be booked on the club’s website or registered for a session.
  • Please indicate the names of all players when making the booking.  Booking instructions are given here.
  • All courts are now available to book.
  • Please allow 15 minutes between bookings on the same court and try to be punctual when arriving.
  • Please vacate the courts 10 minutes before the end of your booking.
  • The clubhouse may be open at certain times of the day.  If you access the clubhouse please wear a face mask and adhere to the displayed guidelines and any one-way systems in operation.
  • Spectators are permitted.
  • For coaching sessions involving a child, a parent or guardian is permitted to attend, but must maintain social distance from the session and other parents/guardians.

Player hygiene and social distancing

  • Hand sanitization points are available at access points to the courts.  However, we urge you to bring with you your own hand sanitizer and alcohol wipes.
  • Sanitise your hands before you access the courts and when you leave just prior to getting into your car (note that communal areas such as gates handrails etc. are potential routes for infection: it will not be possible for us to regularly clean these areas).
  • Do not access the dugout area and refrain from touching the net winding gear.
  • There may be more people accessing our facilities so be especially courteous when leaving / accessing the courts and maintain a two-metre rule in areas of restriction such as gates and court access areas.
  • Minimise what you bring onto court and place any belongings, water and refreshments at opposite sides of the net to your opponent. When swapping ends (if needed) do so on the same side as your belongings and the opposite one to your opponent.
  • Do not pick up balls from other courts.  Return them by kicking them or hitting them with your racquet.

This information will be regularly reviewed in the context of current LTA and government advice, as well as the number of members wanting to gain access to our courts. Please check this page regularly for updates.
