Village Festival - 22nd June 2024 - Please can you help

The tennis club is organising a village festival on Saturday 22nd June including showcasing local sports clubs. Planning is in hand but we need help in a number of areas

 Chapplins Advertising Boards

Chapplins of Liss have kindly offered to help promote the event by erecting  advertsing boards in locations in and around the village. We need 20 roadside locations and front gardens in Liss, Liss Forest and Greatham where we can place a board in the 2-3 weeks leading up to the event.

If you can help please get in touch via liss.tennis@gmail.com

Raffle and Auction Prizes

The key funadraising area for the club will be a raffle and auction. Raffle tickets will be sold in the weeks leadng up to the event and at the event itself. If the event is weather effected then tickets sold prior to the event become even more important.

We need 3-4 top prizes with general appeal to help drive ticket sales . Luxury hampers or vouchers are ideal.

We also need other prizes that could form part of an auction. These could have more niche appeal such that they are bid for and purchased by people who will use them. Experiences and services are ideal prizes. For example

  • balloon, rib or helicopter ride or 4x4 off-roading experience
  • loan of a season ticket for a game eg for Portsmouth FC, Southampon FC or Hants CC
  • loan of other season tickets for access  to an exhibition, show or event
  • loan of equipment eg kayaks for a day
  • provision of a service or skill such as home cooked  meal for a dinner party,
  • etc

Anything that you may have access to or can provide that other people may value is ideal.

We are approaching larger local business - but do you own or run a  business or have a contact? Could you  help?

If you think you can help with a prize for either raffle or auction please get in touch at liss.tennis@gmail.com

Tea Shop and Home Produce Stall

We would like to turn the main hall in the pavilion into a pop-up tea room selling teas and cakes. The hall could be made up with bunting and small decorated tables set up inside and out so that there is space to sit down and linger.

Alonsgside this, we would also like to run a home-produce stall selling jams, chutney, marmalades and other goodies made by members.

These are things we have done well in the past  and has the potential to be a good source of income from the event for the club.

If you think you can help with the organisation and running of the tea shop or stall please get in touch at liss.tennis@gmail.com
