Tennis Opened Up - Club Outreach and Community Tennis in 2024

The club organises and runs a number of free outreach and community tennis programmes that supports local schools and youth groups and provides opportunities for all ages and abilities to get started and play tennis for free.

The programes support the whole concept of tennis opened up. Anyone can play; whatever their age, ability or reason for playing.

These programmes have been made possible with support from  club sponsors - Liss Garage Services, Milkwood care, and syn-star - club coach Natasha Harris and a range of club volounteers who have all chipped in throughout the year.

As in previous years we have continued to support all local schools and youth groups including Liss Infants and Junior Schools. Greatham Primary School, Crossover Youth Group and Liss Beavers and we hope to have a session under the new floodlights with Liss Guides and Brownies before the year end. The Club has also organised a number of family open days with another one to come in December.

This year the club also organised a village festival in June.  This was a huge effort with months of planning but it was worth it as there was a fantastic turnout with over 30 local clubs, societies, schools, businesses and hobby groups in attendance with many more supprting the event in other ways.

Liss Village Festival

The club's aim was to organise a village event with its clubs and societies and the heart of things. Over 30 local groups joined in and they ranged from social, intellectual and creative to personal fitness, wellbeing and team sports.  All the groups involved, including local schools, churches, family and youth groups helped provide a great afternoon for Liss families.
