Norfolk Tennis in partnership with The Norfolk School Games hosted it's annual Mini Tennis Festival on Mon 30 June at the UEA Sportspark.
Throughout this summer term, the eight Norfolk School Sports Partnerships have been hosting local events across the county. Providing opportunites for over 1000 pupils from across KS1 & KS2 to experience a skills festival or inter-school competition.
Qualifiying schools were then invited to the finals where Y1/2 pupils enjoyed learning skills to encourge playing competition in the years to come. Y3/4 pupils competed against each other in a competition, with every school playing a minimum of 5 matches.
Congratulations to Fairhaven Primary, a small school with only 105 pupils who finished winners on the day - recieving the trophy from Norfolk Tennis Ladies Captain Sam Hickman.
Tournament Organiser Stu Silvester said "this great event has been running for over a decade and provides so many children with their first taste of competition. Huge thanks to the excellent Sports Leaders from Thorpe St Andrew School, who umpired over 150 matches throughout the day"
