Padel Venues

Padel is one of the UK's fastest growing sports. It’s easy to learn, extremely sociable and a great way to get a low impact, high-energy cardio workout. Played on an enclosed court about a third the size of a tennis court, groups of mixed ages and abilities can play together.

With more than 1,550 courts across 559 venues nationwide, and 860,000 players nationwide (as of March 2026), it's a fantastic new way to get active. There were just 68 courts in 2019, when the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) took on governance of the sport. This growth has seen impressive annual increases in courts from: 87 in 2020, 150 in 2021, 220 in 2022, 350 in 2023, 763 in 2024 and 325 venues in 2025.

Norfolk Tennis' Padel Ambassador is Paula Trudgill.

Norfolk Tennis supports padel venue growth and opportunities across the region. As of January 2026, there are eight padel venues (and 23 courts) in the County.

Why Register As An LTA Accredited Padel Venue?
When a club registers with the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), it means meeting nationally recognised standards designed to ensure the sport is safe, accessible, well-governed and professionally delivered. That includes things many players might never see, but which matter enormously behind the scenes.

Being an LTA Registered Venue means players know they’re stepping into an environment that values safety, professionalism, accessibility and long-term growth of the sport.

Safeguarding
Every LTA registered venue must implement policies, procedures and training designed to protect children, young people and adults at risk. Venues are expected to create a culture where sport is welcoming, inclusive and safe for everyone.

Coach Accreditation
At LTA venues, coaches must meet ‘safe to practice’ requirements including DBS checks, first aid training and safeguarding education, ensuring players and parents can trust the people delivering sessions.

Facility Standards
The LTA provides technical guidance on how padel courts should be built and operated — from court dimensions and lighting to safety considerations — helping ensure venues meet recognised construction and operational benchmarks.

Connection At National Level
Registration connects venues into the national padel ecosystem. Accredited clubs/venues can host official competitions, access LTA programmes and funding, and provide members with benefits such as competition pathways and governance support.

The first Norfolk Padel County Championships, consisting of nine events, was held in 2025 with the Finals Day at Norfolk Padel.

The rules are much the same as tennis, although you hit an underarm serve and the walls are used as part of the game. Padel is a great way to attract new members. Learn More
