Safeguarding Update from Mandy

I hope many of you had the opportunity to join in with some of the sessions from Saturdays safeguarding conference. If you registered, you could still use the link that was emailed to you to complete sessions on demand within four weeks and gain credits and an extra year on your safeguarding training . If you haven't registered, you will be able to view sessions on the safeguarding website under safeguarding Conference 2025 .

i have highlighted some topics of interest -

  1. Does your venue have any young people suitable for the YPWA programme details below -

Become a Young Person’s Welfare Ambassador | LTA

A reminder the first 50 venues to nominate will be entered into a prize draw where ten £100 vouchers can be won.

The Harriet Dart video is also good to view .

3. The lived experience session reminds us of all to be responsive if a young person speaks to you about something that has happened/ worried them.

Listen/ Believe/ Reassure / pass on  ( use the report a concern form)

4. Kate Gilbert presented a session on engaging with parents . The Parents Community is available for parents of children involved in the tennis circuit to join and learn / engage with other parents . It is a Facebook group, and parents will need to be accepted onto it. There is a u- tube channel for non-parents to access material on .

5. Our regional safeguarding officer Melissa Miller will be visiting some venues unannounced in Norfolk on 14/10/25 .Now is a good time to review your posters ,website material and venue standards required for registration. If you would like to be added to the Norfolk Welfare officers What’s App group, please message Mandy Driver on 07932610464.

Don’t forget to keep safeguarding on your committee meetings Agenda and use the safeguarding committee training video. Engage with your venue coaches and keep a record of their dbs ,safeguarding training and first aid expiry dates .
