Become Norfolk Tennis' Competition Lead

Norfolk Tennis is dedicated to growing tennis across the county, supporting players, clubs, coaches, officials, and volunteers. One of the key ways we do this is through competitive tennis, giving players of all ages the chance to challenge themselves, improve, and enjoy the camaraderie of county-level events.

We are looking for a Competition Lead to help shape and coordinate our competition programme. This is a voluntary role, ideal for someone passionate about tennis and making a real impact locally.

About the Role

  • Purpose: Develop and grow tennis competitions across Norfolk, ensuring they are accessible, inclusive, and enjoyable.
  • Focus: Work collaboratively with clubs, venues, volunteers, and the Lawn Tennis Association to enhance participation and competition opportunities.
  • Experience: No LTA qualifications required, but you should have a good working knowledge of tennis competitions, familiarity with systems like Tournament Planner, and strong coordination skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support clubs and venues to deliver local tournaments.
  • Promote LTA-sanctioned competitions across Norfolk.
  • Recruit, develop, and motivate competition organisers and officials.
  • Encourage the use of LTA competition tools, including Results Manager, Box League Manager, and the World Tennis Number.
  • Stay connected with the wider LTA community to share best practice and learn from other counties.

Time Commitment & Reward

  • Voluntary role with an honorarium of up to £1,000 per year.
  • Attend quarterly Norfolk Tennis meetings and relevant LTA forums/webinars.
