Niche Flowers Charity Tennis Tournament 2025

Please see note to all the ladies who took part in this great event.

Dear Ladies

Thank you for playing in our Niche Flowers Charity Tennis tournament on Wednesday 7th May.  It could have been a little warmer but it was dry, not too much wind and actually quite good that it wasn’t too sunny!

The winners were Laurel Denman & Kerry Williams who beat Caroline Strickland (Rose) & Diane Bush in the final.  The winners of the backward draw were Sheila Armes & Alison Dhrampal.  All EATSC members!  They were presented with flowers by Libby Peryar, founder/owner of Niche Flowers.  Libby gave a little background to her choice of charity, The Pear Tree Fund, an organisation which offers emotional, physical and practical support to people reaching the end of their lives so that those who wish to can die in the comfort and security of their own homes. The raffle raised £500 for the fund.  Thank you to everyone who not only bought the tickets but contributed to the prizes.

Many thanks also go to Derek Perry for refereeing the event and a very big thank you must go to Sharon for the delicious lunch and Sandra who spent a lot of time producing cappuccinos!

Derek and I have been running these tournaments for 20 years and, now that I have been having a delve into the records, we realise that this 7th May tournament was actually the 50th event. It’s a shame we missed marking the occasion so we are hoping to plan a special event for the Louise Willgrass Memorial Tournament which will now be on Wednesday 1st October to celebrate.  Please note the change of date.

The next tournament will be on Wednesday 25th June sponsored by Aynsley Evoli’s Fresh Herb Salts enterprise.  I hope we will see you there.

Best wishes

Diane

Thank you to Niche Flowers for sponsoring the event, which has raised £500 for the Pear Tree Fund.
