The Norfolk Men's Team have completed the final edition of LTA Winter County Cup with a division title.
Following wins against Durham & Cleveland (7-2 on Friday) and Herefordshire & Worcestershire (6-3 on Saturday) at Easton Tennis Centre, the Men's Team faced a final day shootout with Somerset to win Group 4a.
The singles matches didnt quite go to plan with only two rubber victories registered by Joe Henden and Luca Pantazis, leaving the team with a 2-4 deficit ahead of the doubles rubbers.
A straight sets win for James Henery and Alex McNaughton, and an incredible deciding tie-break win, 15-13, by Tom Fisher and Kris Jenkins levelled the tie at 4-4 with the deciding rubber to come.
Joe Henden, and partner Fred Withers, again delivered a comprehensive 6-2, 6-4 win, completing a remarkable 5-4 comeback for the first winter division title for the Norfolk's Men's Team since 2013.
The Norfolk Ladies Team competed at Tauton Tennis Centre in Winter County Cup Division 4a against Somerset, South Wales and Warwickshire. The team battled hard and gave new additions valuable County match experience.
Throughout 2025, the LTA conducted a County-wide financial reviews, and data analysis of junior and adult County competitions and decided to end the LTA Winter County Cup. The LTA Summer County Cup competition will continue in 2026.
