U/14 Boys Play 12 Counties Event In Corby

On Saturday, the U14 boys travelled to Corby Tennis Centre to compete in the 12 Counties event (Group 2B). Representing Norfolk were Sam, Micah, Lucas, and Albert, with Ben Croftwood captaining the team for the day.

With a young squad and two players unavailable due to injury and U18 County Cup selection, this was a valuable opportunity for our players to compete against older opposition in preparation for the upcoming U14 County Cup.

In the opening match against Buckinghamshire, the boys competed well but were narrowly defeated 3–1. Sam performed strongly at No.1, while Lucas secured an impressive 10–8 win in the deciding third set at No.3.

The second match was against Hereford & Worcester. Despite four competitive matches, the team lost 4–0. Micah delivered a strong performance at No.2, narrowly missing out in a third set tiebreak, and Albert also played well at No.4 against a good opponent.

In the final match against Leicestershire, one of their players withdrew due to injury, leaving three matches to be played. Norfolk were defeated 3–0.

Throughout the day, the team demonstrated excellent spirit and professionalism, particularly in their warm-ups and match preparation. This was a great learning experience for all players, and one we can build on moving forward.

Well done to all involved.
