Club/Venue & Parent Forum Review

Thank you to everyone who attend the Norfolk Tennis Club/Venue & Parent Forum on 1 December 2025 at the East Anglia Tennis & Squash Club.

In recent weeks, Norfolk Tennis formally changed its legal status from the Norfolk Lawn Tennis Association, a volunteer-led unincorporated association, to a volunteer-led Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).

James Buddell, Chair of Norfolk Tennis, provided an overview of LTA strategy changes and focus for 2026, including the restructuring of Norfolk County junior training from 1 January 2026 through to 30 June 2026; information about Easton College Tennis Centre, the support and growth of competitive tennis opportunities for children in Norfolk. More will follow in the next week’s digital newsletter and on this website.

Chris Stocker, the junior tennis manager, set out his objectives and focus for the remainder of the 2025/26 junior County season; inform parents of the tournament entry system and levels, and his vision to regrow Team Tennis opportunities for clubs/venues in Norfolk.

There will also excellent presentations from Kathy Lofthouse, the Inclusive Tennis Lead and Norfolk Tennis President, and from Mandy Driver, the Safeguarding Officer for Norfolk Tennis. Neil and Lesley Henery also gave a presentation on the junior tennis development of their son, James Henery.

Attendees also had the opportunity to ask questions, including the growth of padel in Norfolk over the past 12 months.
