We have one ladies team playing in the Exeter & District league, and a mixed team in the East Devon league this winter - all playing doubles.
We field four players for each match. For the ladies, an A and a B pair, with each pair playing one rubber (the best of 3 sets) against both of the opponents pairs.
Mixed league is different. Two men and two women for each match. Matches consist of two mixed rubbers, one men’s and one ladies. Before playing the mixed rubbers, the home team declare who is their first and second pair, the Away team then decides which pair plays which.
In both leagues, if the score reaches six games all in the first two sets a 7 point tie-break is played. If a deciding set is required a 10 point Championship Tie-break is played. One point is scored for each set won, with a tie-break treated as a set.
