Club Activities

Individual Members Play

Our main club courts are open to members between 9am and 10pm every day. Members can access the courts and facilities in the club house through a locked gate using their key fob issued upon joining.

Court booking is not currently required, however, members should check whether the courts have been reserved for lessons, matches or club play on the timetables and the whiteboard outside the clubhouse, as these have priority.

If others are queuing to be on court, players must come off after the set is finished or after half an hour.

Adult members are allowed to bring visitors. The fee is £5 for adults and £2 for juniors which is refundable if the visitor joins that year. Please put your name and the name of the visitor in the book in the clubhouse and you will be sent an invoice.  Only 6 visits per visitor, per year, are permitted.

Further information and club bye-laws are provided upon joining.

 Adult and Junior Club Play

All members are very welcome to come along to weekly adult or junior club play. This is a social activity aimed at having fun and is for all abilities.

The adult club play is every Wednesday evening between 6.30pm and 9pm and on Saturdays between 1.30pm to 5pm. You are welcome to turn up without prior booking.

Supervised junior club play is free for all junior members on Saturday mornings between 10am and 12pm. Please get in touch with Tracy Smith so that your child can be put into the correct group and time for their age and ability.

"Junior Power Play Hour" is 5pm to 6pm every Saturday - this is a time when junior members have priority over the adults! Juniors under the age of 13 must still be accompanied by an adult...although the accompanying adult can sit back and enjoy a coffee!

Senior Teams

Ponteland Lawn Tennis Club has several senior and veteran teams, men’s, women’s and mixed entered into the Dunlop Northumberland and Durham League. Information about the teams, and their fixtures and results can be found on the League Active website.

The various competitions range for being fairly competitive to very social and friendly. They are a great way to explore Northumberland and get to know some interesting players and their baking skills! Please get in touch if you are interested in joining any of the teams or you'd like to ask any questions about what it's like to play in the leagues.
