Ladies B team 2 out of 3 ain't bad!

The Ladies B team's roller-coaster season continued with more highs than lows as they won two of their three most recent matches in the Cornwall League West Division.
After two wins and their first loss, Ladies B bounced back with a 9-2 away victory over Hayle B.
Fiona and Sim stormed through both their rubbers, dropping only two games in four sets as they won 6-0, 6-0 and 6-1, 6-1. Jane and Midge beat the second pair 6-0, 6-2 and picked up another point by winning the opening set against the first pair before being edged out in the deciding champions tie-break.
Fiona and Sim then collected all three points in an 8-3 away defeat at Redruth B, with a straight sets win and a narrow champions tie-break loss.
But the team returned to winning ways with a 7-5 home win over Penzance C - the highest ranked of the three Penzance teams in this division.
Fiona and Jane overcame the Pz first pair 10-8 in the deciding champions tie-break while Diana and Sophie and Sophie were edged out 11-9 in the breaker in their opening encounter.
With Fiona and Jane beating the second pair in straight sets, the match was tied at 5-5 but St Ives secured the win - and the two additional points - on games countback, having won ten more than the visitors.
Ladies B, partly because of injuries, have now fielded a total of ten players in their six matches, four of which have ended with victories.
