2024 saw the arrival of Pickleball at St Ives Tennis Club with the upgrading of our short tennis/junior court including the provision of lines for the new sport which is proving popular with members.
Pickleball was launched with a charity tournament which raised £700 for Cornwall Air Ambulance.
Thirty two members and guests took part in a ”fun” knockout tournament which proved pretty competitive with Matt Trevorrow and Aimee Hall beating fellow St Ives club member Christian Guerrini and visitor Jackie Craven, from Torquay, in the final.
A total of £350 was raised from entry fees, a barbecue lunch, donations and a bring and buy stall with the club fund-matching that amount with a further £350 donation.
