TREBLE SUCCESS FOR TRIS WYNNE
Tristan Wynne picked up a hat-trick of titles on his 2022 return to St Ives Tennis Club’s finals day on Sunday September 11.
Tris, who spends most of his time working in London, regained the men’s singles crown he last won in 2018 with a hard-fought 6-4, 7-5 victory over Joe Harper, a newcomer to the St Ives men’s first team this season.
He then teamed up with men’s captain James Brown for a 7-6, 6-3 win against Harper and former singles champion Matt Trevorrow.

Amelia and Carolyn had earlier joined forces to lift the ladies doubles title by beating Sarah Beynon and Jane Liddicoat in straight sets.
Sarah, another of this season’s recruits, is the club’s new ladies singles champion, battling through the early drizzle for a three-set win over 15-year-old Matilda Scowen who took the first set 6-3 before Sarah responded to win the next two 6-3, 6-1.
Bill Peters, the he previous year’s men’s open singles champion, wonthe Over-50s, beating Simon Clifford 6-3, 6-2.
