PAY AND PLAY TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions, the following words have the following meanings
ClubSpark Portal: the portal which the Council will utilise for bookings or such other portal as the Council notify You from time to time is to be used for bookings.
Council: means Teignbridge District Council.
Maximum Playing Time: means in each rolling 7-day period either 6 x 1 hour booking slots or 3 x 2 hour booking slots.
Park Courts: means the tennis courts owned by the Council located at Bakers Park, Totnes Road, Newton Abbot, TQ12 1LP, Forde Park Tennis Courts, Forde Park Road, Newton Abbot, TQ12 1AW and Buckfastleigh Tennis Courts, Ducksponds Road, Buckfastleigh, TQ11 0NL.
1. Pay & Play
1.1. Pay and Play is charged at £6 per hour per court or such hourly rate as the Council shall set from time to time.
1.2. You can only make a booking for the Maximum Playing Time.
1.3 Bookings must be made via the ClubSpark Portal up to 7 days in advance. The Parks Tennis Courts Booking Terms and Conditionas apply
1.4. Please ensure that you only book courts that you intend to use and cancel those that you cannot use, even if it is last minute to allow others the opportunity to book.
1.5. You will be issued a refund if you cancel your court booking within the refund window, which ends twenty-four hours before your booking start time.
2. Terms
2.1. The refund window ends 24 hours before your booking start time.
2.2. Delivery or receipt of coaching services is not permitted under Pay & Play.
2.3. Delivery or receipt of a non-tennis activity is not permitted under Pay & Play.
2.4. Using Pay and Play does not allow you to charge people to use your court booking.
2.5. All players are required to register through the ClubSpark Portal system and book a court before playing.
2.6. Parents and guardians take full responsibility for the welfare & security of their children who are aged 16 and under, when they are on the Park Courts.
2.7. Players aged 12 and under must be supervised at all times by a parent or guardian when at the park Courts.
2.8. Any players found trying to access or using the Park Courts when they are closed will have their booking cancelled without refund.
2.9. For any type of court closures (works, damage, lockdown) Pay and Play bookers must cancel their own bookings before the refund window closes, which is 24 hours before your start time.
2.10. Refunds can take 5 to 10 working days to show in your account from Stripe, if on the 11th working day the refund does not show in your account please email TeignbridgeParks.Tennis@Teignbridge.gov.uk
2.11. If you breach any of our guidance’s or terms the Council reserves the right to cancel all bookings without refund.
2.12. All players are required to read the Parks Tennis Court Booking Terms and Conditions.
3. Pay & Play: Coaching & General Hire Terms
3.1. Delivery or receipt of coaching services is not permitted under Pay & Play.
3.2. Delivery or receipt of a non-tennis activity is not permitted under Pay & Play.
3.3. Coaches running hitting or practice match sessions for free or for a charge is a form of coaching and not permitted under the Play Tennis Pass or Pay & Play.
3.4 Pay & Play does not permit the delivery or receipt of coaching services, this includes teaching your own or anyone else's children, any friends or your or their family members, etc. Your bookings will be cancelled without refund if delivery or receipt of coaching services is found to be taking place without Council permission.
3.5 Any coaches found to be coaching on the Park Courts without written permission from the Council will have their bookings cancelled without refund, and the LTA will be informed as part of our partnership. This also includes asking/having your clients book a court through pay & play to receive coaching, your client will also have their pass and bookings cancelled without refund.
4. Important to note
4.1. Should the terms & conditions as set out above or any others set out on the Council’s Tennis website be breached, the Council reserves the right to withdraw the Play & Play option from all players without refund.
4.2. The Council reserves the right to pre-book courts for coaching, events, and maintenance and to allow targeted free access at specified times.
4.3. The Council reserves the right to close the Park Courts for any reason.
4.4. By booking and using or playing with someone under their booking, on any of the Park Courts, you are accepting all of our terms and safe to play guidance.
4.5. The Park Courts are for recreational tennis play only.
5. General
5.1 Facilities may be withdrawn from time to time for repairs, refurbishment, tournaments, special events or closure. Wherever possible, 2 weeks’ notice of any disruption to the regular programme will be advertised.
5.2 Generally, a facility will be open diary during daylight hours (weather permitting) as the courts are not lit. It is the responsibility of the booker to check daylight hours and the weather forecast.
5.3. Sessions and facilities are subject to change without prior notification and may also be subject to cancellation should the session or facility be deemed no longer viable.
The Council reserves the right to amend and/or update these Terms and Conditions.
