The TransAm is a team competition open to members of both higher and lower team levels, as the Tennis Committee will divide players into two divisions and then split players across the teams.

The format will be as in previous years, and we have pre-booked bubble slots again for 2 hours. The matches will be played on Sunday (6pm-8pm) night and Monday (8pm-10pm) night.  Matches should only take 90 minutes, but we book the extra half hour to ensure that there is always sufficient time.

Entries normally close on just before Christmas with the first matches scheduled for early January.

Assuming that we have similar entries to the 2023 Tournament, then each player in a Team Squad is likely to have around 3 matches over the January to March period.  As you are not required to play in all your team matches, you can be selective about which nights you play, depending on the preferences of the other team members.

There will be 8 games per rubber.  There will be 2 men and 2 ladies in each match.  Therefore, 2 mixed rubbers and 1 level doubles rubber.  8 games in each rubber with sudden death on second deuce.

The bubble fees for everybody and will remain at the very low cost of £4 per person, per match. These match fees should be paid to via bank transfer to:

Entry fees are £6 per person to cover provision of new balls for each match, plus trophies for the winning team.

Do not enter if you cannot make one of the two weekly slots.

Captain

The club relies on people volunteering to be a captain. The squads will be defined, and dates are pre-scheduled, so you only need to check availability in advance and select your teams of 4 (2 men and 2 ladies).
