Padel Box Leagues Overview

The East Dorset Padel Summer Box Leagues will start on 1 April and run until 30 September and you will be able to sign up through the playtomic app in a few days time.

To be eligible to participate in the box leagues you must either be an adult club member of East Dorset or a padel booking subscriber, for the duration of the league.  You can join as a padel booking subscriber anytime using the playtomic app, where you will find details by scrolling right to the Membership screen; current price is £50 for the year.

There will be two separate doubles box leagues; one is formatted for Individuals but played as doubles, paring with each of other three members in each box; for this you do NOT need a partner for signing up. There will be a separate league for players to enter as a Doubles Pair Team, where you will need to sign up together as a pair and where you will play matches in your box against other doubles pair teams.

Leagues will be set up according to levelled up playtomic ratings.  We are currently running levelling sessions to assess ratings and would advise that those interested in entering to arrange to take a levelling session as soon as possible.  If you do not have a rating, you will need to fill out the questionnaire in playtomic, found under your profile.  This asks a series of questions on playing experience.  Anyone without a rating will not be accepted into the leagues.

The leagues will be accessible under Competitions in the playtomic app, and the entry fee will be £5 per event.

The league total number of players needs to be divisible by 4 to work. Therefore, a waiting list will be held for players to be added when others drop out or once the waiting list reaches 4 and a new league can be created.

Each box will contain 4 players or 4 pairs whom all compete in 3 matches throughout the course of 6 weeks. At the end of each 6-week period the top ranked player/pair will gain promotion; the bottom rank player/pair will be demoted and the middle 2 players/pairs will stay.  Matches will be best of 3 sets with a match tie break to 10 for the third set.  If a game results in deuce, a golden deuce receivers choice will be played.

At the end of the 6-month period the leagues will be published and the winners announced.  New leagues will be created for the following 6-month period with those existing league players who wish to continue and for any new players.  Players will be ranked according to their positions from the previous league plus incorporating new members based on their playtomic ratings.

Contact information will be made available to those in the box leagues.  If you do not want to share your information, then please advise by emailing to eastdorsetpadel@gmail.com.  You will then be responsible for contacting your opponents to arrange your matches.
