Singles Rating Ladder

  1. Matches will be 2 sets.  A championship tie-Break (first to 10 points) is played as a decider if the match ends 1 set all. (You may wish to play a 3rd Set in full, but only if both players agree).
  2. The ladder and ratings will be displayed online and in the clubhouse. Winners, please text your score to Tony 07809 677371.
  3. Players are responsible for organising their own matches and supplying balls. Contact details will be sent to those competing.
  4. Players must be 16 years or over (due to safeguarding) and be willing to arrange and play their own matches at a mutually agreed time. Juniors 13+ may compete, but parents / guardian or responsible adult must be the point of contact and attend all matches between a Junior and an Adult. 
  5. Players may enter or leave the league at any time.              
  6. Please be pro-active in arranging games.

How the singles rating ladder works.

  1. Players will be given a rating based upon past performance or an estimate or ability.
  2. You may challenge any player in the league. A challenge must be accepted or re-arranged at a mutually convenient time if the challenger is within 4 places above of below.
  3. The winner will gain rating points and their opponent will lose rating points.
  4. The number of points you gain / lose will be calculated by the administrator who will update the ladder as matches are played. A rating calculator will be used to determine the points won and lost.  From August 2023 minimum is 10 point. The calculator will be available to all so you can see that its fair.

Rating Calculator: All rating changes will be calculated by the administrator, but if would like to check how many points you are competing for  then use the Rating Calculator the K factor needs to be set at 40 and the rating change will be multipled by 1.5
