Berkshire O50s Shine at UK County Championships

Berkshire’s Over-50 padel teams took on the nation’s best at the UK County Championships in Bristol—and made their mark.

The Mixed team opened in the top Navarro division on Friday, battling hard against strong Sussex and East Scotland sides. Despite their efforts, they were unable to progress against such high-level competition.

Saturday saw both Women’s and Men’s teams in action in the Bella Group. The women delivered one of the standout moments of the weekend: the first pair secured superb wins over Leicestershire and eventual champions Middlesex, while the second pair pushed both teams all the way in tight, hard-fought matches. Unfortunately, the quarter-finals did not go ahead, so Berkshire missed a real chance to build momentum and prove ourselves.

The Men’s team carried strong momentum through the group stages, reaching Sunday’s quarter-finals before falling to a powerful East Scotland side.

Across the board, Berkshire showed real progress, resilience and team spirit against some of the UK’s strongest and most experienced county teams.

The best is yet to come.
