Berkshire Tennis is excited to host an upcoming 8U County Open Day, designed specifically for keen young players who are eager to progress on their tennis journey, learn to compete, and take their first steps toward county training.
If your child or player loves the game and is ready to level up their skills, this is the perfect opportunity to see what county tennis is all about.

What to Expect
Led by our experienced 8U County Captain, Rob Flynn, and 10U Performance Lead, Nigel Mann, the session is designed to be welcoming, engaging, and constructive. The core emphasis of the hour will be on:
-
Tennis Fun: Keeping the energy high and the love for the sport at the centre of on-court activities (hit lots of balls, play some points).
-
Parent Education: Helping parents understand the competitive pathway and how to support their child’s development.
-
Informal Assessment: A relaxed environment for our county coaches to observe players’ current skills and potential.
Is this session right for your player?
Before signing up, please review the following key criteria to ensure the session is a good fit:
-
Age Group: Players must be born in 2019, 2020, or 2021.
-
Competitive Drive: They should already be competing, or intending/starting to compete, in internal or external club competitions.
-
Commitment: They should be playing and training regularly, with an interest in increasing their current training hours.
-
Passion: Most importantly, they should be genuinely passionate about tennis!
Please note: Players who are currently already attending Berkshire county training sessions do not need to attend this Open Day.
