Considering the Government's most recent move on easing some lockdown restrictions, and in line with LTA guidance, we have some positive news for our CLTC members!
From Wednesday 13 May:
- Singles can resume for all members
- Doubles play can also resume - however is restricted to members from the same household
- 121 coaching sessions can resume (ensuring social distancing is respected)
This is welcome news and means we can start to get back on court! Your safety is our number one priority and any member wishing to play must observe the following:
- Courts are accessible between 08.00 and 21.00 each day (using the code on the lock on the main gate)
- Use of the courts is restricted to paid-up members only. No visitors are permitted at this current time
- Online booking - to ensure we manage the flow of members on and off court, you must use our online booking tool which you can access here: https://clubspark.lta.org.uk/CullercoatsLawnTennisClub/Booking/BookByDate#?date=2020-05-13&role=guest
- Currently court time is limited to 1 hour and we would ask that you finish after 55 minutes to allow time for a safe changeover. If you're waiting for your court, please respect social distancing guidelines
- Members must use their own tennis balls - please clearly mark these with your initials
- The Clubhouse will remain out of bounds for the moment and members are advised to bring hand-gel and respect social distancing while on court (e.g. no handshakes etc).

Regrettably, with no leagues scheduled for the 2020/21 season, things will not play out as we had expected. On the upside, this means more court time available for social play and, hopefully, later in the season there may be opportunities for friendly matches and some tournaments.
In the meantime, we continue to invest in the club - moving us forward with online services and maintaining and improving our facilities.
