Coaching Team

Devon is extremely fortunate to have an excellent and fully committed team of coaches who work tremendously well together supporting and encouraging each other. There is a good range of coaches with respect to qualifications, age, and experience, and all from a variety of backgrounds. To have such a dedicated team that complement each other is essential to the success of the programme and is a real positive for the players. The County Coaching team has coaches from all over Devon who are passionate about developing fantastic players and of course county cup teams too!

All the coaches are DBS checked and LTA accredited, and thoroughly enjoy challenging themselves, as much as they do the players!

Will McNally -Devon Performance Manager

I am an LTA Level 5 Master Performance Coach with a wealth of experience that spans more than 30 years of coaching. My career has brought me into contact with many wonderful people and players, with several going on to achieve National Honours and World Rankings. I was a County Performance Officer for Berkshire before moving to Devon to take on the role of Director of Tennis at Exeter University. I started working for Devon as their Junior Performance Manager in 2017 with my main role to coordinate and manage the Devon Junior Performance programme which currently has approximately 120 players over the various age groups. I thoroughly enjoy working together with players, coaches and clubs / centres to help them develop, as well as keeping an eye open for new and emerging talent.

Tracy Brown

Grant Notten

Grant’s love for tennis started as a competitive junior player in South Africa. His passion for the game and his interest in personal development led him into a career as a professional tennis coach.

Grant’s Coaching Philosophy is that tennis is as much a mental game as it is a physical one. His coaching emphasizes building strong fundamentals while also developing mental toughness in matchplay and a performance mentality. He specializes in teaching competitive players looking to gain an edge with strategic play, advanced technique, match preparation and resilience.

He is currently working with the Exeter University Student Performance BUCs teams and is the lead coach for the Exeter College Tennis Academy. He also coaches Junior LTA Pathway players - which is for competitive players 9 - 18 years old as well as coaching the Devon County 14U boys.
