RECENT EVENTS AT THE CLUB

Evening Tennis Social

A floodlit/evening tennis social was organised by Fin on Saturday 29th March. Although only a few members attended, it was enjoyed by all. Thanks to Fin for organising—definitely an event to repeat!

Spring Working Party

Held on Sunday 15th April, this event saw a record turnout. Tasks completed included:

• Gutter cleaning on the clubhouse
• Second coat of creosote on shed and fence
• Entrance gate repair
• Tree felling beside Court 1
• Grounds tidying
• Kitchen and window cleaning

Special thanks to new members who helped, and to Janet for her delicious fruit cake!

📅 Note: The Autumn Working Party is on Sunday 19th October at 11am (after social tennis).

Race Night

Held on Friday 25th April, this event raised £545, with £272.50 donated to the Motor Neurone Disease Association (East Surrey Branch). Thank you to Simon for running the event and Fin for organising.

The Webb Tournament

Held on Bank Holiday Monday, 5th May. Despite poor weather, 9 adults and 9 juniors participated.
🏆 Winners:

• Junior: Andrew McGregor-Todd (2nd year in a row)
• Adult: Fin O’Regan
  Spectators included Betty and Warwick’s friends—thank you for coming!

UPCOMING EVENTS

• Barbeques – Last Wednesdays of May, June, July (possibly August) at 8pm after tennis. Bring your own food/drink.
• Oaks Tournament – Friday 6th June, 9:30am. Please bring food/drink contribution. Sign-up on the notice board.
• John Mason Tournament – Thursday 13th June, 2pm. Open to mid-week/full members. Sign up required. Tea & cake provided.
• Fun American Tournament – Sunday 29th June, 2pm. Open to all adult playing members, including Introductory Members. Sign-up in the clubhouse.

Derby Day Parking

Organised by Janet. Raised £723 last year. Volunteers needed!

Car Park Light

A solar floodlight has been installed in the far car park corner. Thanks to Steve for arranging.

Juniors

• 3 teams (18U girls, 16U girls, 16U boys) competing in Surrey National Youth League.
• Junior Tournament: Sunday 22nd June, starting 9am with 8U matches.

🏆 Congratulations to Penny and her Surrey 14U girls County Cup team – 3rd win in a row!

❗ NO Sunday Morning Session on 22nd June due to Junior Finals.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

• The car park has seen some unwanted visitors. Be extra vigilant during Derby Festival.
• Lock all doors, especially the ramp side door.
• Keep the front gate closed, even when courts/clubhouse are in use.
• An Accident Book is in the kitchen (next to the postbox). Please complete it if needed.
• Please switch off heating/lights when not using the clubhouse.
• Lost Property is now in the Men's Changing Room. Place any found items there.

SOCIAL & MEMBERSHIP

Super Saturdays – First Saturday each month. Midweek players invited. “In It to Win It” draw happens then.

• Senior: £5 per visit
• Junior: £1 per visit
  Visitors must be introduced by a playing member. Max 3 visits per season. Not allowed in club sessions. Leave fee in the black kitchen postbox.
