GLTA Ladies over 60's Winter League
This is a friendly relaxed league; we entered a team for the first time in Winter 2019, starting from the bottom in Division 3. Seven teams to a division so six home and six away fixtures, played on weekdays, usually morning or lunchtime.
After 2020-2021 being cancelled due to lockdown. We entered a team for this last season 2021-2022, due to our sucess in 2019 we were promoted to Division 2 so this was going to be a tougher competition but we managed to hold our place in Division 2 and came 2nd which was a fantastic result. Congratulations to everyone as it was a magnificent team effort and a lot of fun was had along the way. We met a lot of inspirational people, but ‘top of the pops’ has to be the incredible opposition in our final match v Cam and Dursley where one of the sprightly opposition was a mere 82! We have many years of swinging our rackets to go yet girls!

The format for matches is as follows:
Each team plays 2 tie break sets against both opposition pairs.
A point is gained for each set won. 4 possible points for each pair = 8 points in total.
Each team play 1 home and 1 away match against each team in their Division.
Players do not need to be nominated.
All teams bring their own refreshments/ snacks. ie no hosting.
