Members of Millfield Tennis travelled to Irvine, California for a tennis tour during the Easter holidays.

The group started their trip at the Newport Country Club for their warm up ahead of their first practice matches against the Advantage Academy, which helped the group to get used to the weather conditions. Although everyone was still adjusting, Millfield competed well against the local players.

The following day the boys had a match against Andover School from Boston which was played in good spirit and we won 5-3 in a well fought match.  As the match was played in a local high school it was also an opportunity to see the facilities of a school in the area.

The second match was against the Advantage Academy, playing on their courts where after a closely fought match we managed to come out on top, winning 8-7.  

As part of the trip, pupils were lucky enough to get the opportunity of watching the LA Clippers play the Boston Celtics in the Staples Center, which was a great experience.

The group also managed to fit in a visit to Long Beach university, San Diego university and UCLA.  At UCLA pupils watched the men play a match against UC Berkeley.  The atmosphere was unforgettable and everyone enjoyed visiting the campus.
