2024 TENNIS OPEN DAY - Saturday April 6th 2 - 4pm

The new tennis season starts at the beginning of April with our Open Day on Saturday 6th April. You are invited to come along & try some tennis for free, see what the Club has to offer, or just chat over a cup of tea. All ages are welcome, including young children who will be able to hit some balls! All equipment provided, as well as light refreshments.

JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP OFFER

We are offering a special junior membership for £10 (normally £25) giving full membership until 31st March 2024. This allows for booking a court & playing free of charge with another member. If interested please contact ssgtennisclub@gmail.com / 07956 981679 or apply online.

COVID

Tennis is a naturally socially distanced sport, but players should apply common sense to reduce the risk of transmission when attending and participating in tennis activity.

ADULT COACHING

Our adult coaching is provided by Rachel Apsey, an LTA accredited coach.

Rachel has many years experiece as a professional coach & has also captained England at the Four Nations  and represented Great Britain as a player for many years. She has recently been selected to represent Great Britain in Florida & also captains the Somerset team for her age group.

Rachel provides coaching for all abilities, both group and individuals. Rachel this year has transferred her coaching programme to Ilminster Tennis Club to maximise use of her time & has invited players from Stoke St Gregory TC  to join her there. Her regular group sessions will be on Thursdays at 1.00pm. Private lessons can be arranged directly with Rachel.

JUNIOR COACHING

Our Junior coaching was provided by Luke Andrews & Dan Smith of LA Tennis, both LTA accredited coaches. These sessions held on a Saturday have now been suspended until around Easter time as no coach is currently available.
