How to find us
Tintinhull Tennis Club
Tintinhull Tennis Club is situated in the heart of the village of Tintinhull within the recreation ground and adjacent to the village swimming pool. The Club is proud to have 2 hard surface (tarmac) all weather courts that were recently completely refurbished, together with new fencing, in 2012.
The Club is properly constituted with a management committee and is also registered with the Lawn Tennis Association of Great Britain via its Place to Play programme, and this confers on the Club benefits in terms of support and development for tennis locally. Additionally, the Club receives an allocation of Wimbledon tickets which are put into a ballot draw that eligible members can choose to enter.
We have a growing membership, currently over 70, which is split equally between seniors and juniors. Our junior coaching programme is very popular and well attended and takes place every Saturday morning with a qualified and licensed coach. Tennis camps are also carried out during the Easter and Summer holidays.
Club night takes place every Friday evening from April to September starting from 6pm and we also have a Men’s doubles team in the Yeovil and District Tennis League, which covers a large area from Taunton down to Charmouth.
The courts are available to members all year round (during daylight hours) when not being used for coaching sessions (mainly Saturday and Monday mornings), league matches on a Monday night (not normally more than 7 during the season) and tennis camps.
Access to the courts is secured by combination locks and all members are advised of the number each time it is changed. Visitors are also welcome; please access the relevant information on the Additional information page.
Fees at the Club are very modest as we wish to encourage as many people as possible to enjoy the game of tennis.
Adjacent to the courts is the village’s heated swimming pool which is regularly open during the summer months, including evenings, and is run by fully trained volunteers. Membership is required but is extremely reasonable too and can be hired for private parties.
Tintinhull is a delightful and peaceful village approximately 5 miles west from Yeovil and is very close to the A303. The village also boasts the Crown and Victoria pub, situated near to the courts, which has been awarded the AA Rosette each year since 2008 for the quality of its food and appears in the Michelin Eating Out in Pubs Guide.
